New York City is of course one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Whether you live in America or are traveling from abroad, there are a number of classic activities that should be part of any New York holidays. Here are some of them:
An absolute must to any visit to New-York City, Broadway shows delight the crowds with their awe-inspiring productions and top-quality performances. There is even a half-price ticket booth located in Times Square where you may get tickets for the day’s performances and you may even get some incredible deals for some of the more popular shows!
As one of the most famous buildings in the world and the tallest one in the city, the Empire State Building does not disappoint those wanting spectacular views. An alternative viewpoint would be the Rockerfeller Centre which also provides an awesome perspective of NYC in addition to housing a popular ice-skating arena.
While visiting the iconic and colossal Statue of Liberty, the world’s most famous neoclassical sculpture and one of the premiere symbols of America, why not plan a picnic with your family in the park just below it? It is a small but pleasant park perfect for a picnic.
The world-class Museum of Natural History features many awesome exhibits and only some of them have an entry fee. It is therefore possible to make a free visit there. Whatever you do, be sure to go to the understandably popular dinosaurs exhibit.
Another great place to spend the day is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Ever wanted to see artwork from great masters likes Monet, Renoir and Van Gogh? This would be the place to go. Otherwise, you will be able to find originals from Picasso and Chagall at the Guggenheim Museum.
Close to the Museum of Natural History, in central Manhattan, Central Park has been charming residents of the city and visitors since its opening in 1857. It is today considered a national historic landmark and receives more than 25 million visitors each year. On top of walking, one may also ride horses, row boats, play a variety of sports, ice skate in the winter. There are several playgrounds and a marionette theatre for kids.
